Wahoo Cypress Wood Half Mount
- Descripton
Not currently in stock but I have the cypress wood slabs in stock ready to make you of this size or to your specifications. 4 to 6 weeks delivery
This is one of my premier pieces. We offer this life-size Blue Wahoo, hand carved from a solid piece of Florida Rescued Cypress Wood.
We use an inlay metal tape into the epoxy coating for the stripes to give it the same “FLASH” that you see when you are pulling one of these fast fish up out of the depths of the ocean.
Realistic teeth hand sculpted out of white epoxy that is truly lifelike.
Using a new non-yellowing, the two-part epoxy resin we put five coats on the finished product to magnify the grain and give it depth and make the fish appear wet. We added some blue transparent creates acrylic paint to give it the natural color without hiding the wood grain.
Snidely took painstaking time to make this fish look exactly like the real thing.
This fish sculpture is 55″L X 201″H X 6″ deep.
The photo really doesn’t do this fish justice. We can make one for you any size that you like.
Custom orders are welcome.

The wahoo (Acanthocybium solandri) is a dark blue scombrid fish found worldwide in tropical and subtropical seas. Some say that the name “Wahoo” derives from the exclamation of some fishermen, “Wahoo!” who have hooked into the extremely fast running fish. In Hawaii, the fish is known as Ono, after the Native word for “delicious”. Hispanic areas of the Caribbean and Central America call it Peto.
